What area can the LUBA 3 AWD 1500 mow?

The LUBA 3 AWD 1500 is rated for lawns up to 1,500m². It covers up to 400m² per hour and is best suited to residential blocks with moderate complexity — slopes, garden beds, and multiple zones are all handled. For lawns approaching 1,500m² with heavy tree cover or dense obstacle layouts, the 3000 gives you more headroom.

Does it need a perimeter wire?

No. The LUBA 3 AWD 1500 is completely wire-free. It uses Mammotion's Tri-Fusion navigation — 360° LiDAR combined with dual-camera AI Vision — to map your property and navigate within virtual boundaries set through the Mammotion app. No cable to bury, no base station to install.

Does the 1500 include RTK positioning?

No — this is the key difference from the 3000 and 5000 models. The LUBA 3 AWD 1500 uses 360° LiDAR and dual-camera AI Vision but does not include RTK hardware or NetRTK capability. For most 1,500m² residential properties this is sufficient. If your property has dense tree cover, complex multi-zone layouts, or you need the highest possible positioning accuracy, step up to the 3000.

How does the navigation system work?

The 1500 uses two of the three Tri-Fusion technologies: 360° LiDAR and dual-camera AI Vision. The LiDAR scans continuously in all directions with a detection range of up to 70 metres, building a real-time 3D map of your lawn. The dual AI Vision cameras identify obstacles and refine navigation decisions. Together they deliver reliable, wire-free positioning across most residential properties without any base stations.

How long does the battery last?

The 1500 has a 9.4Ah battery providing 135 minutes of runtime per charge. When the battery runs low it returns to the dock automatically, recharges, and resumes where it left off. The 3000 and 5000 models carry a larger 15Ah battery — if maximum runtime per charge is important to you, those models are worth considering.

What slopes can it handle?

All-wheel drive with four independently driven motors handles slopes up to 80% gradient (38.6°). Adaptive suspension also clears obstacles up to 50mm high — roots, small kerbs, and uneven ground — without getting stuck.

What is the cutting width and height range?

The LUBA 3 AWD 1500 has a 400mm dual cutting disc system with six blades per disc and dual 88W motors. Cutting height adjusts between 25mm and 70mm, covering buffalo, kikuyu, couch, and most Australian grass types. Note the 88W motors are sized for properties up to 1,500m² — the 3000 and 5000 use more powerful dual 165W motors better suited to thick or fast-growing grass on larger blocks.

How many mowing zones can it manage?

Up to 15 separate zones. Each zone can have its own schedule, cutting height, and mowing pattern. Zones can be separated by channels — narrow paths as tight as 70cm that the mower navigates between areas.

How does it avoid obstacles?

The 10 TOPS AI processor identifies over 300 types of obstacles — pets, garden furniture, toys, tree roots, and more — in real time. Smart Cliff Shield detects pool edges and sharp drop-offs automatically. The blade disc stops immediately if the mower is lifted.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes — IPX6 rated. It handles heavy rain and Australian outdoor conditions. A rain sensor can trigger automatic return to dock if conditions are unsuitable for mowing.

What connectivity does it include?

Built-in 4G with 3 years of free data included. Control the mower remotely, monitor live footage, and receive anti-theft alerts through the Mammotion app. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also supported.

When will it arrive in Australia?
