The Acre Eater uses a combination of RTK-GNSS and VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping) technology, branded as the AONavi™ system on the X3 Plus. RTK provides satellite-guided positioning, while VSLAM handles visual mapping to fill in coverage gaps under trees or near structures where GPS signals can drop out. The result is accurate, reliable navigation without perimeter wire.

The Acre Eater range covers lawns from 800m² (X3 Plus) up to 6,000m² (Acre Eater Pro). The standard Acre Eater handles up to 3,000m². All models feature all-wheel drive and a floating dual-blade cutting system designed for uneven terrain and dense Australian grass types.

The floating disc system allows the cutting deck to follow ground contours independently, maintaining consistent cut height even on bumpy or uneven lawns. It also reduces the risk of getting stuck in thick grass—a common issue with single-blade mowers on Australian lawn types like buffalo, kikuyu, and couch.

The setup doesn't require any specialist knowledge. You place the dock, position the RTK receiver in an open area (a mounting kit is included for rooftop or shed installation), download the Sunseeker app, create an account, and then drive the mower around your boundary using the app like a remote control to define the mowing area. No perimeter wire to bury.

Yes. The Acre Eater features a waterproof design and automatic rain detection — when the rain sensor activates, the mower returns to its charging dock automatically. The unit is also described as washable, making post-mow cleanup simple.
