The Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000 is a robot lawn mower for suburban yards up to 1,000 m². It needs no boundary wire, no RTK base station and no antenna on the roof. Instead, it finds its way with a 360° LiDAR sensor and two AI cameras, so it keeps working under trees, beside the house and down narrow side paths where satellite-guided mowers often lose signal.

It suits front and back lawns on a typical block, shady yards and gardens with lots of beds, paths and obstacles. You set it up once in the Mammotion app and it mows on a schedule from then on.

Who the YUKA mini 2 1000 suits

  • Lawns up to 1,000 m²: Including separate front, back and side lawns, with up to 10 zones on one map.
  • Shady or built-up yards: LiDAR doesn't rely on a clear view of the sky, so tall trees, two-storey houses and fences aren't a problem.
  • Narrow access: It gets through gaps as narrow as 55 cm, which covers most side passages.
  • Owners who want a simple setup: There's nothing to install apart from the charging station.

Navigation: 360° LiDAR with no RTK

  • 360° LiDAR, 60 m range: The LiDAR scans all the way around the mower with a 360° × 45° field of view, out to 60 m.
  • 1.5 cm navigation precision: Accurate enough for tidy, even stripes and neat lawn edges.
  • No RTK, no cable: No base station or antenna to mount, and no signal issues under trees or along walls.
  • Protected sensor: The LiDAR sits behind an alloy shield and is rated IP67 waterproof.

AI vision and safety

  • Dual-camera AI vision: A 10 TOPS AI chip recognises more than 300 types of obstacle and predicts how moving objects will travel, so it steers around them.
  • Drop-off detection: It detects steps, cliffs and pool edges and stays clear of them.
  • Rain sensor: In heavy rain it heads back to the charging station and picks up the job once the weather clears.
  • Quiet: Runs at 57 dB, so it can mow without disturbing the neighbours.

Easy mapping in the Mammotion app

  • Auto-mapping: Map the lawn automatically with guided exploration, or drive the boundary yourself if you prefer.
  • Up to 10 zones: Set separate mowing schedules for areas that aren't joined, with paths between them.
  • No-go zones and virtual walls: Keep it away from garden beds, furniture and features.
  • Partial remapping: Redraw one edge without redoing the whole map.
  • Cloud backup: Save up to 10 maps to your Mammotion account, so they carry over if you change phones.
  • DropMow: Put it down and mow a one-off area without changing your main map.

Cutting, drive and battery

  • 190 mm cut with 5 pivoting razor blades: Cutting height adjusts from 20 to 60 mm.
  • Rear-wheel drive: 200 mm rear wheels driven by a 65 W hub motor handle slopes up to 45% (24°), small ruts and low branches.
  • 6.1 Ah battery on a 21.6 V platform: Up to 125 minutes of mowing per charge. The battery is user-replaceable.
  • Battery care in the app: Set a charging limit such as 80% to extend battery life, and schedule charging during off-peak hours.
  • Built for the outdoors: The body is made from UV-resistant ASA plastic, and the mower is rated IPX6.

Optional extras

  • Mammotion 4G Module: The YUKA mini 2 connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as standard. Add the 4G module for remote control, live monitoring and anti-theft tracking when the mower is outside Wi-Fi range.
  • Mammotion LUBA/YUKA Garage: Shelters the mower and charging station from sun and rain.

Where it isn't the best pick

The YUKA mini 2 1000 is designed for relatively flat lawns. If your block has slopes steeper than 45%, or your lawn is bigger than 1,000 m², look at the Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD 1500, which is all-wheel drive, handles slopes up to 80% and covers up to 1,500 m². Not sure which one fits your yard? Call us on 1300 762 666 and we'll talk it through.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size lawn is the Mammotion YUKA mini 2 1000 suited to?

Relatively flat lawns up to 1,000 m². That covers most suburban front and back yards in Australia, including blocks with separate lawn areas, since it can manage up to 10 zones on one map.

Does the YUKA mini 2 need a boundary wire or an RTK base station?

No. It navigates with 360° LiDAR and AI vision, so there's no perimeter wire to bury and no RTK station or antenna to mount. The only thing you install is the charging station.

Will it work under trees and next to the house?

Yes. Because it doesn't depend on satellite signal, tree cover, tall walls and fences don't throw it off. Mammotion says it keeps navigating reliably in low light, light fog, heavy tree cover and shifting shadows.

Can it mow a front and back lawn that aren't connected?

Yes. It manages up to 10 separate zones, each with its own schedule, and you can set paths between them. It gets through passages as narrow as 55 cm, which suits most side paths.

How do I set it up?

Place the charging station, download the Mammotion app and map your lawn, either automatically or by driving the mower around the edge yourself. Once the map is done it can start mowing straight away. If you'd like a hand, call us on 1300 762 666.

How long does it mow on one charge?

Up to 125 minutes, depending on grass height and conditions. It takes about 135 minutes to recharge, and it returns to the charging station on its own and picks up where it left off.

Can it handle slopes?

Yes, up to 45% (24°), thanks to its rear-wheel drive and 200 mm rear wheels. For steeper or rougher blocks, the Mammotion LUBA mini 2 AWD is all-wheel drive and handles slopes up to 80%.

Is it safe around pets and children's toys?

Its AI vision recognises more than 300 types of obstacle and predicts how moving objects will travel, so it steers around them. It also detects steps, cliffs and pool edges. As with any mower, we still recommend keeping children and pets off the lawn while it's running.

What happens when it rains?

A built-in rain sensor detects rain. In heavy rain the mower returns to its charging station and resumes the job once conditions improve. The mower is rated IPX6 and the LiDAR is rated IP67.

Does it need 4G?

No. It connects over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as standard. If you want to control and monitor it from anywhere, or track it if it's moved, you can add the optional Mammotion 4G module.

How noisy is it?

It runs at 57 dB, quiet enough to mow without bothering the household or the neighbours.
